Much appreciated for you making this video. I saw an black aluminum shield on Amazon. Now I am interested which grade they used. The sellers it's getting back to me. But their sir/ma'am it's perhaps 6000 and up. Still I want to take pride owning it. Just like Japanese knifes.

In your opinion what would be the best steel to use on a manual engraving machine for hard metals like brass, as the cutter would be rotating about 20,000 rpm So heat and sharpness and temp of steel would need to be a factor, but if you were to go with a type what would be your preference, I see tungsten carbine, or HSS etc also looking for something I can resharpen when a bit dull

Hot rolled? Typically C channels are cold rolled.

So glad I discovered you guys! I called 4 stores before you and I was laughed at by those other suppliers for wanting to order less than 21 feet of 8 inch steel pipe. I am a professional engineer that works in heavy civil construction and I'm very familiar with large quantities of steel. Most other suppliers make you feel like you're wasting their time because they are only interested in how many pounds of steel they can sell.There is a large and growing group of hobbyists and professionals who need small quantities of steel that can fit in their personal vehicles.
